A Detailed Look at the 2017 Acura ILX

Acura has decided to move its ILX to the next generation in 2017. With a completely new look the 2017 Acura ILX is expected to be the most cost-effective vehicle Acura has to offer in 2017. However, this does not mean that the company has made a compromise in terms of quality or luxury.
The new look:
On the outside, the 2017 Acura ILX has been given a touch of elegance, which is coupled with 17-inch alloy wheels. Basically, the designers at Acura have put in an effort to make the car look as attractive as possible. With the 2017 Acura ILX, the company has continued its trend of cars with front grilles, but has made them sharper and glossier. Additionally, Acura has also made the door lines more detailed and the rear-bumper more prominent.
The interior of the new ILX is just as classy as the exterior, but the 8-inch screen is placed higher in the dashboard. However, there is an option for consumers to select a 5-inch screen, which would be much closer to the drivers reach. Additionally, the seats have an 8-way power system for adjustment and improved comfort.

Competition with 10th generation Civic Si:
As per reports from Honda, the 2016 Civic Si would definitely beat the current Acura ILX, in terms of horsepower. However, the 2017 Acura ILX aims to put the Civic Si back in its place. Whilst it is no secret that Honda has been constantly upgrading its Civic to match the ILX, it still lacks severely in terms of luxury as compared to the ILX. However, the Civic tends to make up for this with cheaper prices. Unfortunately for Honda, the luxurious edge of Acura has helped the company hold on to its loyal customer base.
Additionally, the 2017 Acura ILX is expected to host a turbocharged hybrid engine, which would give it a further edge over its competitors. However, news reports suggest that the engine is similar to that used in Civic type-R models. This is good news, particularly for the North American market where Honda has displayed little interest in introducing the Civic type-R. Furthermore, the engine will host either a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Analyst Review:
Although most analysts have been pointing out the faults in the 2017 Acura ILX, but they all agree that it is a great deal, given that it is the most cost-effective Acura consumers can buy. Additionally, CNET in particular has reviewed the car to be a bit too complicated for a new user and also stated that the cabin is too noisy for an Acura. However, it is important to note here that the ILX is not aimed to be a premium and completely luxurious Acura.
In fact, it is just a simple Honda, but with a special touch of luxury added to it.

Release date and price:
The 2017 Acura ILX has been humbly priced at $28,500 for the basic model and go up to mid-30s for premium variants. Whereas the release date of the all new ILX is expected to be late 2016 or early 2017.
